While accepting the prestigious award, Ariana Grande got emotional talking about the whirlwind year 2018 has been.
During her acceptance speech for the prestigious Woman of the Year award, the “thank u, next” singer, 25, got emotional when talking about her whirlwind year, which included critically-acclaimed music releases, a public breakup with fiancé Pete Davidson and the death of ex-boyfriend Mac Miller from a drug overdose just months after they ended their two-year relationship.
“I want to say that I find it interesting that this has been one of the best years of my career and the worst of my life,” she said while on stage accepting the honor. “I’m not saying that for sympathy, I’m just saying that because I think a lot of people would look at someone in my position right now…and think, ‘She’s really got her (expletive) together,’ Ya know? Like, ‘She’s really on it.’ Like, ‘She’s got it all.’ ”
