Thousands of families have been queuing for hours in different parts of the US to pick up groceries provided by food banks.
According to a local Alabama church that regularly helps people in need, the demographic of those seeking aid has changed dramatically in recent weeks, as people from all walks of life are reaching out for aid.
In Washington, food banks are running low as an estimated 1.6 million people, double the usual number, are expected to seek food aid.
Some 16 million jobs have been lost in the US over the last three weeks due to coronavirus lockdowns.
